BRUNNER heating inserts are premium products that have proven themselves thousands of times over. This fact and our wealth of experience have prompted us to offer you an extended guarantee with the BRUNNER guarantee. Secure yourself up to ten years guarantee right away if you register your BRUNNER product in the first three months.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. The product must have been properly installed by a specialist company*.
  2. The product must always be operated in accordance with the operating instructions.
  3. The BRUNNER guarantee applies exclusively to BRUNNER products which have been purchased through official distribution channels and which are both approved and released for the country of destination.
    The BRUNNER warranty is only valid and enforceable in the country where the product was purchased. This assumes that the BRUNNER product in question was also intended for sale in that country.
  4. The product was registered within the first three months after purchase

* Qualified personnel within the meaning of this agreement are members of the specialist trade of stove and air heating installers; persons/companies with equivalent qualifications according to the aforementioned specialist trade on the basis of an exemption from the Chamber of Crafts; as well as persons/companies who have demonstrated a corresponding qualification on the basis of a training course provided by the company (BRUNNER certificate) as long as the person(s) who obtained the certificate are affiliated with the company.

The statutory warranty period is usually two years. In order to be able to guarantee the smooth operation and enjoyment of your new fireplace/stove in the long term, we recommend that you register your BRUNNER device in the first three months from the date of purchase. This does not only benefit you, but also your stove manufacturer, in case something needs to be replaced. We store your details and the appliance data in a so-called product file. Based on this information, we can answer customer service enquiries quickly. If spare parts are needed, we can easily find the right device part, even many years later. Of course, be ensured that we will use the data exclusively for the above-mentioned purpose within Ulrich BRUNNER GmbH and they will not be passed on to third parties.

  • For firebox claddings*, viewing glass*, screens, mechanical and electrical parts of BRUNNER heating inserts: 2 years guarantee

Excluded from the BRUNNER guarantee are wear parts*** such as grates, telescopic rails as well as flue gas pipes and reheating surfaces. In the case of boiler modules, the following components are not covered by the guarantee: thermal discharge safety device, immersion sleeves, safety heat exchanger. Door seals are also excluded from the guarantee. BRUNNER only uses premium door sealing cords that are precisely matched to the requirements of our heaters. When used as intended, their usual service life is significantly extended. Overheating with higher filling loads than specified in the operating instructions, direct contact with embers and the use of unsuitable and aggressive cleaning agents can significantly shorten the service life.

 

Scope of the BRUNNER guarantee

Within the guarantee period, BRUNNER will provide free material replacement for cast iron and steel parts which become unusable or considerably impaired in their usability as a result of a manufacturing or material defect. In all cases of damage, a claim is only valid if the device is installed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and technical regulations and is used as intended with the specified heat output. Damage as a result of overloading, the effects of force or normal wear and tear*** are not covered by the BRUNNER guarantee. The BRUNNER guarantee ends for the respective part after two, five or ten years; regardless of any claims. The replacement of a part does not extend the guarantee period or cause it to recur for the replaced part. The BRUNNER guarantee does not cover any further costs in connection with the installation and removal of parts.

 

Start date of the BRUNNER guarantee

The BRUNNER guarantee starts from the date of purchase of the product. The date of purchase is the date of invoice from the specialist tradesman (the tradesman's invoice and the guarantee passport must be handed out in the case of warranty claims). Legal and contractual claims arising from the contract with your master craftsman's company are not affected by this statement. Please note that our manufacturer's guarantee does not affect the statutory rights to which you are entitled under the applicable legal system. This applies in particular to EU law.

 

* Fireclay plates are manufactured as precisely fitting shaped bricks especially for our fireboxes. These bricks, pre-fired at up to 1100 degrees Celsius, serve as refractory protection for steel or cast iron fireboxes and considerably extend their service life. The most varied temperature loads as well as mechanical impacts can and will trigger small cracks here. Individual cracks in the fireclay firebox cladding are no cause for alarm; they are perfectly normal and harmless and are not grounds for claims. What must not be the case are material detachments or clear, star-shaped cracks on several levels.

** BRUNNER only uses ceramic glass from Schott. The international technology group has more than 125 years of experience in the fields of special glass, special materials and cutting-edge technologies. The Robax fireplace viewing glass from Schott guarantees real fire enjoyment. They allow maximum visual and physical proximity to the fire, but also provide perfect protection against flying sparks. The glazing is given its unique properties by a special production process called ceramisation. During this production process, not all optical impairments such as fine scratches, solid inclusions or small air bubbles can be technically excluded. These must be accepted as state of the art; there is no cause for claims. Robax ceramic fireplace glass faces are inspected during two quality controls according to the currently valid technical delivery specification, during which unsuitable products are rejected. This primarily concerns tolerances in dimensional accuracy and curvature as well as a visual inspection. The optical material quality is tested under the following conditions: Visual inspection in normal installation position, without optical aids; illumination at approx. 800 lux - viewing distance of at least one metre; background corresponds to a colour tone of fireclay bricks. A maximum of three air inclusions or solid inclusions larger than four millimetres are accepted, but no air inclusions with an opening to the glass surface larger than one millimetre; decorative defects smaller than 1 millimetre are allowed due to the manufacturing process.

*** According to DIN 50320, which was withdrawn in 1997, wear means the progressive loss of material from the surface of a solid body (base body), caused by mechanical causes, such as contact and relative movement of a solid, liquid or gaseous counter-body, i.e. the loss of mass (surface erosion) of a material surface due to abrasive, rolling, impacting, scratching, chemical and thermal stress. In common usage, wear is also identified as other sorts of wear and tear.
