As a head of the warehouse, I am responsible for the proper storage and logistics of the products at BRUNNER. My tasks are goods receipt and goods dispatch. I plan the capacity, assign the employees to their tasks in the morning and ensure that all warehouse activities and processes run well in my domain. In the BRUNNER family business, employees are first and foremost people. Being allowed to be human, the demand for quality and the Bavarian down-to-earthness - that's what unites everyone here.

Brunner has become a second family to me. For almost 22 years now, I have been working in the furnace technology division for the company in Central Germany. Before that, I was already familiar with the Brunner company because of my work in wholesale. To my predecessor I once said: "If one day a job opens up at your company, I will take it immediately". Of course, that was meant more as a joke, but three years later the joke became serious. Mr Brunner invited me for an interview and two months later I started working for Brunner. To be honest, when I look back on it, it was the best step in my professional career. It is Brunner's innovative technology that stands out for me; always keeping its finger on the pulse, a high standard of quality and very good service. In other words, the perfect "all-round carefree package" for our customers. Over the years, many friendships have developed and they have the highest respect for and appreciation of each other. I think it's good that we have a good organisational structure for a medium-sized company and that the communication with the interfaces works. The management is always open to our questions. You feel heard and can express your ideas and wishes. I find it particularly positive that, despite all the organisation, structures are not exclusively rigid, and that many things change as part of the ongoing process.

I have been part of the "Brunner family" for more than 30 years. First active in sales and now more than 15 years in end-user consultant. I work with a great team spirit and helpfulness are not just words. In our department, it is not only the technical side that matters; often my colleagues and I are also the "pastoral care" for our customers. Through many different characters, whether on the phone or at the exhibition, you get an enormous knowledge of human nature. And if a "grumpy" thinks that women don't know anything about technology, we'll be happy to convince him of the opposite with our feminine charm. Our bosses are always up for a joke. Close to the employees. The humour must never fall by the wayside. However, we still know who the "boss" is.

We are a really strong team here and this is felt not least by our customers, many of whom have become friends. Our products and the work that is involved are simply fun and enjoyable - and most importantly, they are meaningful products, not unnecessary consumer goods. I like being here because everyone is given the opportunity to create space for themselves and to contribute to the company accordingly - you are directly involved in the success of the company, so to speak. Individual initiative is not overridden here by rigid organisational structures, as is often the case, but is unleashed by flat hierarchies and, last but not least, is highly appreciated by our management.

I can rightly be counted among the veterans here at BRUNNER. I have been with the company for many years, appreciate the family atmosphere and am fully committed to my job in payroll & financial accounting. We are a small but fine team of ladies, we get along well and it's a pleasure to come to the office every day. BRUNNER is a part of my life that I don't want to miss.

As a quality manager, I am involved in countless processes, get to see a lot and become aware of why our products are so popular and successful. Being part of this big picture makes me particularly proud, because I stand fully behind our hot devices made in Germany. As an old hobbyist and craftsman, I always set up creative fireplaces here for training purposes and feel therefore very close to the product. Stove builder partners therefore like to call my direct line often, because I am there to help them in the best possible way with advice and action when it comes to the installation of our heating inserts and surface techniques.

I started working here at BRUNNER in 2014 as a sales representative in the field of heating technology, and I've simply been happy to be here ever since. I appreciate the unique working environment, which includes modern buildings and attractive workplaces as well as cosy places like our beer garden and the guild island. Our bosses place great confidence in us, which makes it possible to work comfortably and enjoy our autonomy. The social community is excellent and you can feel the sense of togetherness immediately. It's human and that's what I like most. Sometimes we stay longer in the evening because colleagues become friends during good conversations, and everything is actually going well.

As a child, I grew up with a tiled stove and even today it is still an indispensable "fixture" in our house. I can therefore very much feel at home with BRUNNER and I think that we have very sensible products in our range that many customers can enjoy just as much as I do. We also have a very nice and competent team here that works well together, but that can also be open to criticism and likes to develop itself further. We all head in the same direction, which is perhaps also our success factor. I like the direct customer contact in my position as a receptionist and end customer employee and have somehow landed here exactly where I should. In fact, I have my neighbour to thank for that. Although my husband has been working here for many years, it was Martin who brought me to BRUNNER and I am still very happy about that today.

... or how an American truck came to BRUNNER. Yes, that was something special. The dream of driving a truck was born many years ago. I was already looking after the BRUNNER vehicles back then. I have always seen to it that the vehicles are in perfect condition and have a personal touch so that our customers can see that this is a special Brunner truck. That's just my thing. Mr Brunner liked that. He asked me: What would you think if we bought an American truck as a fair and exhibition vehicle? I replied: "Ami - super! But I'm not a Show trucker who only cleans, I want to drive too. I want to work with it and be on the road with the truck in summer and winter. About 7 years ago, my wish came true. I got a special trailer to go with the truck so that I can work optimally. Its design was tailored to my needs for my job. With my truck, I deliver Brunner products all over Germany, to Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium and many other countries. So today I drive the best stoves from Germany with the best truck I know.

I have to say, even though some of our customers confuse the end-customer consulting department with pastoral care, I really appreciate the customer contact - especially when a tricky case of a seemingly dissatisfied customer can be solved satisfactorily after all. And we almost always manage that in our girls' team. With female empowerment, which has a lot going for it technically, we solve almost every problem competently and charmingly. Our goal is to have satisfied customers who feel they are in good hands here at BRUNNER. Besides, we also take care of the exhibition and spare parts dispatch. Since we work very much across departments, it goes without saying that people in the teams support each other and that works quite well in this family environment because the majority always foster human interaction.

Why is fire warming? As a graduate physicist, this is a simple question for me. But things become more complex when it comes to the goal of making heat available to the end user in a clever, material-saving and easy-to-use way. Even in the design phase, we can simulate influencing variables in advance, discuss them afterwards and thus also optimise them, thanks to software that originates from aerospace engineering. Only when all the parameters are aligned is a prototype built. At BRUNNER, everything revolves around the perfect wood fire. I do many training sessions a year with our craftsmen to ensure that everything works naturally and is spotless in your home. Every year, around 1,000 craftsmen come to us for further training. As a physicist, I believe in predictability and perfection, but I am also a person who knows that not everything can be calculated.

The same applies on the supplier side: Good quality and a reasonable price are the order of the day. The free approach is to build a good partnership that lasts for years, in which you work together to find the best solutions. Our manufacturing companies provide us with their specific know-how at a very early stage. It helps that the distances to most suppliers are short. They are located in the immediate vicinity and you can also meet them in person to commission the prototypes.
