Pellet heating - an alternative to oil heating

Exchanging an old oil heating system for a more environment-friendly, modern pellet heating system has never been so affordable. Since this year, the federal government has been subsidising heating systems based on renewable energies with up to 45 percent of the investment costs. Away from oil, towards wood.

Advantages of pellet heating

The production of wood pellets requires much less energy than fossil fuels. Pellets are a standardised wood fuel made of pure, natural wood and can be dosed via pelletisation, almost like liquid wood. They are cheaper and their price development is independent of political influences. The CO2 footprint of a pellet condensing boiler is the smallest of all, and the small amount of ash left over from the combustion process can be easily disposed of in the compost at home.

Comfortable heating and simple operation

The pellet boilers from BRUNNER are characterised by a high degree of efficiency, particularly quiet operation, a minimum own power requirement and the lowest standby losses. Operation is extremely simple and functions via a graphic glass touch display with information and setting options for the boiler and heating system. The BRUNNER pellet heating system also runs online via tablet and smartphone as standard and free of charge; remote maintenance can be set up at any time.

Smart combination

For those who would like to invest more extensively in their heating technology and want smart technology, the pellet heating system can be combined with the BRUNNER heating centre (BHZ).

For example: Hot water preparation via a fresh water station, additional heating circuits, integration of a BRUNNER fireplace or tiled stove or use of surplus solar power through the integration of a photovoltaic system, right up to the integration of a charging station for electric cars.

Pellet storage

Pellet heaters are ideal for houses with a medium to high energy demand. Storing the wood pellets is no problem; if you had room for an oil tank, you also have sufficient storage space for pellets. Simply take out the tank and put in the pellet store. This also has the nice side-effect that pellets smell much more pleasant than oil.

New funding guidelines

Converting one's old oil heating into a new pellet heating system has never been as cheap as it is now, because efficient technologies that supply buildings with heat on the basis of renewable energies are subsidised by the state. The subsidy amounts to up to 45 percent of the costs of the heating system and a maximum of 22,500 euros. This high subsidy applies to the entire investment, including painting or plastering work, and even the value-added tax is subsidised. This makes conversion particularly attractive. The replacement of an oil heating system with a heat pump is also subsidised.

Specialist tip

Replacing an existing oil heating system is particularly advisable now, as you can get part of the costs reimbursed through the subsidies. A good way towards heating with renewable energies.
